Uninstall A Computer Program

There is several ways to remove programs from the computer. First check to see if the program has a removal icon. Second go to add and remove in the control panel and use that program. Last is to locate the files on the hard drive and remove them with the delete key. We will look at all three.

The first way is to Click on the word START with the left mouse button on the taskbar. Then click again on PROGRAMS. Find the program you want to remove. In this case I am going to REMOVE SHAWMAN BACKUP. I see that they have an uninstall. A CLICK on YES and programs is removed. CLICK on UNINSTALL and follow the directions will remove the program.

On occasion the uninstall program will have FILES that are being used by another program. I find that it is best to KEEP these files.

In the second process using Microsoft uninstall program we do a bit more clicking.

CLICK on CONTROL PANEL. Then a CLICK on ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS on the right

I have clicked on SHAWMAN the program I want to remove which highlighted the program. A click on the ADD REMOVE button started the removal.

The third way to remove a computer program is manual. You do all the deleting.

A click on START on the taskbar. A second click on FIND or SEARCH produced the find program. I typed in the name of the files I want to find (SHAWMAN) a third click on FIND NOW gave one FILE FOLDER and TWO FILES. Placing the mouse pointer on the FILE FOLDER and one click with the left mouse button highlight the folder. Holding the shift key down on the keyboard and taping the down arrow key twice highlighted the two files. Now a tap on the DELETE key and the files will be removed.
