MAKING FOLDERS AND FILES ON YOUR COMPUTER
We all have things to save on our computers Pictures, Letters, E-mail
just to name a few. Here is a tutorial showing you just how to do that.
A file and folder may be saved anyplace on your computer and a lot of times in your computer accessories. Here I have a graphic of my COMPUTER, with all their drives I can use to save files and folders.
I have selected for this tutorial my drive C which is my main drive and in most cases will also be your main drive.
A click on word File top left side will give me a menu with word NEW and FOLDER.
A click with the mouse on FOLDER and the name NEW Folder appears on my C drive as shown below
Notice that the words NEW FOLDER are highlight the first key I tap will erase all the writing. I am going to call the folder ZZZZ for easy access. If you notice I already have numbers in the names of some of my folders. Numbers are on the top and alphabetical below. A tap on the ENTER KEY registers the new name on the computer as show in the graphic below.
I am going to make another folder inside of the ZZZZ folder. I went back to my computer opened up C drive scrolled down to the ZZZZ folder and double click on it opened it up. Back to the word filed, NEW and the folder and I will be ready to give my new folder a name
This time I name my folder 1234 as seen above.
Now Iam going to switch gears and make and save a FILE. A click on the word START lower left corner of the computer. Give me a menu. Another click on RUN.
On the RUN line above you can see that I have typed in WORDPAD which is on all our computers and for the most part we overlook the program
it is a lot like Microsoft word but not as complex and a bit more challenging than note pad. A tap on the enter key to wake the computer up from it's nap and we get the program.
Now that we have our DOCUMENT made we need to save it. Let's put it in the folder ZZZZ on the C Drive.
I have clicked on the word file in the document I have just made and I get a menu where I can SAVE OR SAVE AS
The computer as given me a spot to SAVE my Document in a folder called my documents. However I chose to save it as I said before in the folder on the C Drive called ZZZZ that I made earlier. The only trouble with that is I have go find it on my computer.
At the end of the SAVE IN my Document line is a down arrow point a click on that arrow point with the mouse give you a menu where you can open up the C Drive and go down and find your folder and open up ZZZZ where all you need to do now is give it a name and click on save
There is another folder already in this folder where we have saved the document. We could have opened up the 1234 folder and saved it in there.
We will save all our files the same way Pictures, music and etc.
