FAVORITES

I like this web site SENIORNET so I am going to add it to my favorites. A click on favorites in the word line and another on add and I can have this web page at my finger tips. I don't have to remember the whole address.

When I clicked on ADD the menu in the graphic above shows up. However when I went to SENIORNET I had to register. So to make life a little easier I click on the name line and changed it by adding my nickname and my password as shown in the graphic below.

By adding my nickname and password when I do go to favorites it will jog my memory that I need to sign in when I get there.

Notice the graphic on the left. It has two FAVORITES one is shown on the word line, which has a little different picture. The other FAVORITES is an ICON that I have added. The nice thing is that when I work on the favorites from the ICON it stays displayed.

When you go to organize your favorites a click on organize and up pops the window shown in the graphic on the right. The four boxes CREATE FOLDER, RENAME, MOVE TO FOLDER and DELETE. Those are the things we will do on this page.

A click on CREATE NEW FOLDER and the folder shows up at the bottom of the favorites list. Notice the yellow color and the vertical black line that is an indication that the box is active I now can give it a name buy just typing. Had I made a mistake A click on the folders name and another click on the RENAME and I could rename the folder. Or I could just highlight a web page name or a folder and delete it.

As I didn't want the NEW FOLDER I highlighed it and clicked on the delete. Up pops this are you sure program. Click on yes puts the folder in the recycle bin.

Just before I deleted the folder I wanted to show you how I could move it. I had the folder highlighted and click on MOVE TO FOLDER up pops the graphic menu on the LEFT a click on @home and I can moved the new folder.

Another Web Page Trick

Save web pages in a file folder on your desktop. You have quick access to that page which you may want to use from time to time. Below is a graphic with examples.

I have gone to the web page, which I want to save. A click on FILE. Scroll down to send and scroll over to SHORTCUT to DESKTOP and a Click with the LEFT mouse button created the short cut on the desktop.
I have the SHORTCUT on the desktop. Now I move it to the WRITE FOLDER holding the right mouse button down and dragging it to the folder. Releasing the right mouse button I get a MENU and a click on MOVE HERE place the shortcut into the folder

Above you can see the WRITE file folder I have on my desktop and the items that I have placed inside for easy access.
ATTACK is a typing game.
ENCYLOPEDIA a hotlink to the web.
POWER POINT a shortcut to the program.
PUBLISHER a shortcut to that program.
MICROSOFT WORD a shortcut
C WORD PAD a short cut to word processing program.
TINY SPELL a shortcut to a small spelling program.
TRANSLATING DICTIONARY hotlink to the web.
TUTORIAL FOLDER containing all my tutorials.

This is how I did it.

A click on START. Move the mouse pointer to PROGRAMS, then to ATTACK.

A right mouse click gave me the MENU send to and a click on DESKTOP sent the shortcut of that program to my desktop.

I have the SHORTCUT on the desktop. Now I move it to the WRITE FOLDER holding the right mouse button down and dragging it to the folder. Releasing the right mouse button I get a MENU and a click on MOVE HERE place the shortcut into the folder.
