EXPORT

To use the IMPORT & EXPORT in Internet Explorer you will start on the word FILE. The drop down menu that is shown on the left, gives you the IMPORT & EXPORT Commands. A click on that line produced the wizard show below.

Click on NEXT on the menu on the right produced the menu on the bottm. I am only interested in saving my FAVORITES.

I have selected my FAVORITES folder and everything inside. A click on NEXT not shown will take me to next menu.

The menu on the right will let me save my FAVORITES anyplace on my computer that I want As my computer is defaulted to save in MY DOCUMENTS I will click on BROWSE and open another window so that I may
save in on a floppy disk.

On the SAVE IN line I have clicked on the down arrow point to produce the popup menu. I have place a 1.44 floppy disk in DRIVE A. Double click on 31/2 floppy (A) and I will see what is on my disk.

My 31/2 floppy drive is open and on the disk I have a folder FAVORITES, and a file bookmark.htm. I will highlight each one of those with a click of the left mouse button and then a click with the right mouse button will give me a popup menu with the word Delete. A third click with the left mouse button on delete and I have deleted the Folder and file.

Notices on the graphic below I have a file called Fav8-02-01.htm. That is the name of The file the last time I save my FAVORITES. (Aug 2,2001) The name I have given the File that I am saving this time is Fav8-11-01. The name of the file tells me what the file Is and when I saved it.

A click with the mouse on FINISH and up pops SUCCESSFULLY EXPORTED FAVORITES. Then a click on OK and I am done.

IMPORT

I will show you how to import your favorites back into Internet explorer. But first I want to delete a favorite from the program to show that the import wizard does work.

I am deleting THE OFFICAL US TIME CLOCK link.

As you can see by the graphic on the left the link is deleted.

We start our import with a CLICK on the word FILE and another on IMPORT & EXPORT.

The last click brought up the import & export wizard. Now it is just a matter of following the directions. The word NEXT must be clicked on.

As you can see by the graphic on the left I have IMPORT FAVORITIES highlight and that is what I will import, with a click on NEXT.

Wizard thinks that I have my exported favorites on my C drive in Documents and Setting. I have them over on a disk on my A drive and I will have to BROWSE for them. A click on the down arrow point and another on Drive A will open the disk in Drive A.

After I get to the A DRIVE a click on SAVE show me the graphic below that all I need to do is click on NEXT

FAVORITIES has been highlighted, as I want to IMPORT all the favorites that I have saved. Click on NEXT and another on FINISHED as shown in the graphic below and I get the big OK.

I have gone back to FAVORITIES to see if the OFFICAL US CLOCK link was restored and as you can see it has been.
