Venissa's Home Page
My name is Venissa Smith I've been in Let's Connect Book Club for six years. I have fun at the book club because we discuss the different books we read and the authors with our reading teacher John. We have read lots of books and here are some of them: The Story of Laura Smoky Night, Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters, Coping, A Long Way from Chicago, and Across Five Aprils. I like books that have a happy ending where the characters get married and live happily ever after. The book I liked best is Across Five Aprils because Jenny and Shad fight to be together even though the war is going on.
I am a high school graduate. I am attending college at Illinois Central College. I'm majoring in Child Development. I like kids especially babies. I've been in school for six years.
Veneissa's Book Review of ACROSS FIVE APRILS by Irene Hunt
My favorite book is ACROSS fIVE APRILS. I liked this book because Shad and Jenny fought to be together during the war. Shad went off to fight in the war and they still wrote to each other. They finally got to be together when Shad got hurt in the war. Jenny's dad finally gave in to them to get married. They lived happily ever after.
My Daughter, Brianna
Brianna Smith is my daughter. She has been coming to Common Place since she has been in preschool. Brianna likes cats and dogs. She has two cats and two dogs. The cat's names are Marie and Whiskers. The dog's names are Bingo and Little Lady. Brianna reads books to me before she goes to bed. Her favorite book to read is The Lady With The Alligator Purse.
