Books I Have Read
My name is Dawn Burks. I have been in Let's Connect Book Club for six years. I have fun at the book club because we talk about the books we read in class with our reading teacher John Fendrich. We have read A Lesson Before Dying, Eleanor Roosevelt, A Long Way from Chicago, Wilma Unlimited, Lincoln, Wanted or Alive, Anansi the spider, Wings, Coming Home, Tar Beach, Maya Angelou, Lon PoPo, Library Dragon, Librarian From The Black Lagoon, Lady With the Alligator Purse, We read some more but my hand got tried of writing all the books down. I did a book report on Eleanor Roosevelt about her life. Our teacher John writes out questions on the book we read. We will go over the questions on the board so we can fill in the answers to the questions this helps us get some more understanding about book before we go to the book club that night. My favorite books are A Lesson Before Dying, Eleanor Roosevelt, Wilma Unlimited, Lincoln, Teammates, Richard Wright and the Library Card, Wings, Coming Home, Maya Angelou, Amazing Grace and A Long Way from Chicago.

Dawn's book review of the Reappearance of Sam Webber, written by Jonathon Scott Fuqua
Between his eleventh and twelfth birthday Sam grew up in many ways. Sam changed when he stood up to the bully. Sam had Ditch, Howard, and Greeley as father figures in his life. Sam did not like his new neighborhood because it was full of junk in the alley, and it was scary at night. Sam was sad because his dad was gone and he did not have protection when he was going to school. When Sam got into a fight with Newt, his new friends who helped them break up the fight. Sam did not like racism and he confronted Ditch about racism.
My Math Class
You can learn in our math class. You can go slow as you want so you can get the understanding of the math problem that you don’t understand because our teacher would help you if you still are having trouble with your math. She said you could call her if you are having trouble understanding your math. She is a sweet young lady.
