I recently saw him at Symphony Hall in April of 2006 in Chicago for the first time since 1959.
RIGHT: Poster for the new Checkerboard Lounge that opened in 2005 in Hyde Park, Chicago, Illinois. The plan was to present jazz two nights a week and blues the other nights. The Checkerboard Lounge was a world famous blues club originaly located in "Bronzeville", just north and west of Hyde Park. A few years after it closed the U. of Chicago persuaded the owner to reopen the club in Hyde Park. Within months the jazz format was dropped as there was virtually no advertizement for the club and poor public relations. The Hyde Park Jazz Society has stepped in and is offering different performers each Sunday evening, to sometimes overflow crowds. The poster has now been autographed by Dee Alexander and Maggie Brown.

RIGHT: The Reggie Workman Quartet at Koncepts Cultural Gallery in Oakland, California on March 31 - April 1, 1989. This was a gift from Nick Popoff, who I met at the Jazz Showcase several years ago.
- LEFT: The McCoy Tyner at The Keystone Korner, San Francisco, California on September 18 to 30 in what is most likely 1973.
RIGHT: Another poster for McCoy and Stanley Turrentine, also from Keystone Korner. The mystery is that the cost is 50 cents higher for this show than for the show on the other poster. Perhaps the added cost was because of Stanley Turrentine. The date could be during the lst week of McCoy being there as the other poster, as the closing date is also the 30th of September..
